The group COTTAS CLUB JAZZ CLUB, coming from OESTE – PORTUGAL, was formed in 2003 and is focused on Dixieland (or Traditional jazz), as played during the twenties and thirties in New Orleans  - the home of jazz.

This is also reflected in the instrumental make-up of the band: trumpet, trombone, clarinet, sousaphone and washboard. In the tradition of the old masters, the band performs the most famous songs of the era acoustically, including singing into a megaphone. The most characteristic feature of COTTAS CLUB is the exciting and lively nature of their interpretations, with humorous texts in a stand-up comedy style. In all the shows, the group presents the audience with premium costumes and, above all, persistent good mood.

So far COTTAS CLUB has released 2 CDs and played hundreds of performances, both home and abroad. Taking part in the two biggest European Dixieland festivals can be considered the prime of the band’s career. In 2007 and 2008, Cottas Club excelled during 14the and 15th Worldwide Festival in the Spanish city of Tarragona (www.dixielandtarragona.com). The following year the band was sensation in the 39th International Dixieland Festival in Dresden (www.dixieland.de), where they entertained thousands of fans during the three days and made it onto the front pages some German newspapers. Also in 2009, the Cottas has been in United Arabic Emirates, representing Portugal in the 38º anniversary of this nation, playing during 6 days, not only in Dubai but also in other capitals of different Emirates.

In 2010, as relevant public performances, the group will be present between 1 and July 4 in “Imaxina Sons” (6 º Festival de Jazz de Vigo), and between 10 and 15 August at “Sziget Festival” in Budapest - Hungary, that is one of largest and most important cultural festivals in Europe
